How do we predict the needs of future space pioneers on Mars? Are there technovations that can save our ocean?

These are 2 of the 4 challenges we put forth to 6 schools in the District School Board of Niagara in recent years. When it came to thinking up ideas we gave them complete carte blanche. In fact “don’t worry about if it can even be done,” we said. “Think the impossible.”

The only guidance: how to think as an entrepreneur. Get the idea and grow it. And quite frankly, these kids have awesome ideas.

Their teachers were given our Entrepreneurial Thinking Toolkit (see it under the shop navigation bar) which is broken down into four units: ideation, design, research and development, and finally, marketing and branding. The teams went through each of these processes. The end-result was the most wonderful prototypes, student pitches, ad campaigns and brilliant inventions we could ever expect. The response from teachers and visitors was amazement at the potential of these ideas and how extensive the thinking and creativity was. Most of all, their passion for their ideas was palpable.
