
Cinco de Mayo celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Frenco-Mexican War, May 5, 1862. Though it is not a national holiday, Cinco de Mayo is a commemoration of Mexican heritage and culture. Puebla, Mexico, the birthplace of Cinco de Mayo, celebrates the event for a whole month!
